Lake Toba is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Sumatra, an island in Indonesia.The lake is located in the north of Sumatra, just over 100 kilometres south of Sumatra’s largest city, Medan.It’s also the largest volcanic crater lake in the world.Lake Toba is also only 50 kilometres south of Berastagi. This town is popular for those who want to climb Mount Sibayak, a stratovolcano with steam vents and hot springs.
